Laying on the border of Cartago and on the river side intersection of Rio Perlas and Rio Navarro rivers, the  resort is known as one of the most beautiful rainforest and mountain hotels in all of Costa Rica, surrounded by an abundance of nature and tranquility, wildlife and forest view.

The hotel is located on 110 hectares of rainforest. It is close to the world-famous Irazu Volcano, and borders with Tapanti National Park, that covers about 600 km² and forms a massive collection of nature parks that extends into Panamá (the largest of which is the Parque Internacional La Amistad).

This offers many other activities, such as zip lining, rafting (white-water and regular), coffee plantations tours, rappelling, biking (speed and mountain), ATVs, horseback riding and many other activity options.

Guests can enjoy bathing in the naturally-fed thermal spring's swimming pool, containing pure healing waters from volcanic sources, which includes a waterfall flowing into the pool. The resort also offers a second, separate cold water refreshing swimming pool, with Jacuzzis, hot tubs, smaller pools and a children’s pool on site. There is also a poolside bar and snacks counter located at the pools.

Trout and other fishing options are offered at the on-site lake, and numerous hiking trails with waterfalls as well as bird-watching trails are available, all within the hotel grounds.

We also offer the opportunity for a true “Spa Experience”, with.  Various spa treatments and massages,  for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation.

The Rio Perlas also contains an exact replica of Orosi Church, one of the most emblematic churches of Costa Rican culture and known as the oldest in all of Central America. The church is available to all our guests for religious prayers, meditation, serenity and also on-site weddings and other celebrations.

We also have a convention center which can hold up to 150 visitors.
